This project was completed in collaboration with Abel Santos-Meeker, Maria Noga, Jonathan Delgado and Jack Condon. This project proposed to replace airport parking lots with a much-needed community farm and park for the residents of the community. This neighborhood in St. Paul is located in a food desert, with a large amount of low income families of color. This park design proposes a new urban farm that serves a food source for the community, as well as an opportunity to educate youth in the skill of growing their own food. The southern part of the design showcases a park for the young families that live in the area, as well as storm water remediation ponds, and direct access to the Mississippi River. A meandering raised trail brings you through the treetops of Crosby Farm Park in an effort to restore the connection that the community has with the river.
